20 DSOs making headlines in July

Below are some of the latest updates from dental support organizations occurring this July.

1. Aspen Dental opens 2nd Colorado practice
Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened its second Colorado practice located in Loveland and led by Victoria Ton, DDS.

2. ProHealth Dental opens 1st CareMount Dental office in new affiliation
Lake Success, N.Y.-based ProHealth Dental opened its first CareMount Dental office through a clinical affiliation with Mount Kisco, N.Y.-based CareMount Medical, a multispecialty medical group.

3. Western Dental appoints VP of financial planning and analysis
Western Dental appointed Keith Kooman as vice president of financial planning and analysis.

4. US Oral Surgery Management snags first Arizona partnership
Irving, Texas-based U.S. Oral Surgery Management expanded into its 14th state. The Guyette Facial & Oral Surgery Center joined the specialty management service company's network with two practices in Scottsdale and Avondale, Ariz.

5. Orthodontic network launches Invisalign treatment plan
Smile Doctors launched a new treatment solution featuring the Invisalign clear aligners.

6. HealthEdge, Synergistic Capital Partners complete investment in Today's Dental Network
HealthEdge Investment Partners and Synergistic Capital Partners completed their investment in Today's Dental Network, a dental practice network and support organization.

7. Western Dental welcomes new chief compliance officer
Orange, Calif.-based Western Dental appointed Eric Royal as its chief compliance officer.

8. Beacon Dental Health doubles in size for 3rd year in a row
Boston-based ​​Beacon Dental Health has doubled in size for the third consecutive year, completing five affiliations in the last 12 months.

9. Simply Beautiful Smiles expands with acquisition of Olin Dental Group
Trevose, Pa.-based Simply Beautiful Smiles recently acquired Rahway, N.J.-based Olin Dental Group.

10. Onsite Dental acquires mobile dentistry company
Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based Onsite Dental recently acquired mobile dental firm Henry The Dentist.

11. Specialty Dental Brands partners with Tab32 to drive digital advancements
Nashville, Tenn.-based Specialty Dental Brands is partnering with dental software company Tab32 to upgrade its operations and advance patient communication and revenue growth. Sacramento, Calif.-based Tab32's cloud-based platform organizes practice information and patient data.

12. Rock Dental Brands acquires 9 clinics
Little Rock, Ark.-based Rock Dental Brands acquired nine dental practices across Arkansas, Tennessee and Missouri, expanding the DSO's network to 84 practices.

13. Vista Verde Dental Partners adds director of field operations
Carmel, Ind.-based Vista Verde Dental Partners added Jill Cruz as its director of operations.

14. Viper Equity Partners launches new program for dental practices seeking DSO partnerships
Consultation and investment firm Viper Equity Partners, based in Palm Beach, Fla., will offer a new program for dental practices seeking to join a DSO. The program aims to produce a 100 percent closing ratio in under 90 days.

15. Endo1 Partners adds 34 practices across 7 states so far this year
Houston-based Endo1 Partners has inked affiliations with 34 new practices and added 42 new specialists across seven states since January.

16. Dental365 to be acquired by private equity firm
Dental365 is being acquired by private equity firm The Jordan Company through its Resolute Fund. The firm is acquiring the DSO from its founding shareholders, Scott Asnis, DDS, and David Kim, MD. The transaction is expected to be completed in August.

17. Select Dental Management enters Massachusetts market
Select Dental Management recently expanded into Massachusetts. The partnership is the DSO's 20th affiliation in the last 12 months.

18. Western Dental appoints chief credit officer
Orange, Calif.-based Western Dental recently appointed Vivek Kumar as its chief credit officer.

19. 'Flipping the script' on traditional DSO models: New organization enters Texas market
Dallas-based Mesh Dental Network, a dental partnership organization, is investing in dental practices across Texas. "We're flipping the script on the traditional dental services organization model by putting dentists first," said Doug Woodward, co-founder of Mesh Dental Network.

20. Pepperpointe names COO
Lexington, Ky.-based DSO Pepperpointe Partnerships recently named David North its new chief operating officer. Mr. North began his new position July 20.
