Meet 10 executives leading the organization:
Steve Bilt, CEO: Mr. Bilt co-founded Smile Brands in 2016. He is also chair of the Smiles for Everyone Foundation. He has won several awards and was most recently included on Comparably's "Best CEO" for women and diversity lists.
Brad Schmidt, CFO: Mr. Schmidt has been credited as a key player in Smile Brands' growth over the years. In addition to overseeing network expansion, he has also led the development of the company’s support services infrastructure and other initiatives covering cost management, technology and process optimization.
Robert Crim, DDS, Chief Dental Officer: Dr. Crim has been with the DSO since 2008, first joining as an affiliated dentist and becoming the organization's market dental director before being appointed to his current position in 2014. He travels worldwide to provide dental services to underserved communities.
Lorilee Schmidt, COO: Ms. Schmidt oversees operations for the DSO's Pacific West region. Before being appointed COO, she served as the company's vice president of operations for the Washington and Northern California markets.
Christy Englehart, COO: Ms. Englehart oversees operations for the DSO's Central Atlantic region. She has more than 30 years of experience in the dental industry, including previously serving as COO for Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental and Brentwood, Tenn.-based Marquee Dental Partners. In 2007, Ms. Englehart received the President’s Award, the DSO's highest honor, in recognition of her performance and dedication to the DSO's mission.
Mesale Solomon-Mendes, Chief Human Resources Officer: Ms. Solomon-Mende joined Smile Brands in July. She has served in human resources leadership in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, beer brewing, rental car and insurance.
Doug Rutledge, Chief Information Officer: Mr. Rutledge joined Smile Brands in 2022. He has more than 30 years of experience in information technology, including 20 years as a CIO in multi-unit healthcare services and big box retailing.
Matt Hall, Chief Experience Officer: Mr. Hall joined Smile Brands in 2022 to lead the company’s efforts to continuously improve the patient experience. He has more than 20 years of experience working in healthcare and healthcare technology.
Victoria Harvey, Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer: Ms. Harvey joined Smile Brands in 2014 and has more than 20 years of legal experience. She also serves as a director for the organization's Smile for Everyone Foundation.
Jody Martin, Chief Marketing Officer: In addition to leading all Smile Brands' marketing, public relations and call center operations, Ms. Martin oversees the Smiles for Everyone Foundation. Before joining Smile Brands in 2017, she led marketing initiatives at Hero Practice Services, a mid-sized DSO based in Colorado Springs, Colo.
