How consolidation is growing among dental specialties in 2024

DSOs and dental groups have been active in expanding and growing their specialty services so far this year.

Here are 10 updates that Becker's has reported on in 2024:

1. Irvine, Calif.-based Pacific Dental Services added three specialty dental groups to its network.

2. Sacramento, Calif.-based Straine Dental Management affiliated with its first pediatric dental practice.

3. Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental acquired its first office dedicated to pediatric dental care and orthodontics. 

4. Nashville, Tenn.-based Endodontic Practice Partners added Endodontic Specialists, which has two practice locations in Michigan.

5. Leading Edge Oral Surgery, an oral surgery group under Dental365's network, acquired Eastern Long Island Oral Surgery in Center Moriches, N.Y.

6. Roseland, N.J.-based Abra Health Group, a dental and medical support organization, opened a dental and pediatric primary care facility in Newark, N.J.

7. Hackensack, N.J.-based Max Surgical Specialty Management expanded its network into New York and Vermont.

8. Dental Associates of Connecticut launched Archway Dental Partners, a multispecialty dental partnership organization with 23 practices. 

9. Modis Dental Partners, a dental group focused on practices that offer dental implants, acquired Innovative Dental of Springfield (Mo.).

10. Houston-based Specialty1 Partners expanded its network with the addition of a California periodontics practice.
