Florida, South Carolina and Texas are among the states that saw the most DSO activity during the third quarter of 2026.
Becker’s compiled a list of more than 70 DSO affiliations, openings and acquisitions during the third quarter.
Here is how DSOs expanded in these states:
Florida
- Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental added Buffalo Run Dental Care; Cherry Elm Dental Care; Citrus Way Dental Care; Duck Creek Dental Care; Denta Smiles; and New Independence Dental Care.
- Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental opened practices in Haines City and Clermont. The DSO also acquired nine practices from Monticciolo Family and Sedation Dentistry
- Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health opened Nona Modern Dentistry and Dentists on Hancock.
- Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened a new location in Punta Gorda, Fla.
- Little Rock, Ark.-based Rock Dental Brands partnered with TLC Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics in Tampa.
- Toronto-based Dentalcorp entered the U.S. market after acquiring Northstar Dental Partners, a 21-practice DSO headquartered in Boca Raton, Fla.
South Carolina
- Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental added Dental Care on Beaver Run; Driftwood Dental Care; Platt Springs Dental Care; Dental Care at Marketplace; and Seahawk Dental Care.
- Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened a practice location in Travelers Rest, S.C.
- Denver-based Lone Peak Dental Group acquired Novus Orthodontics, Carolina Dental Docs and Foster Orthodontics.
Texas
- Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Imagen Dental Partners added Fossil Creek Family Dentistry; Laughlin Dental; San Antonio Aesthetic & Family Dentistry; and Hearthstone Dental Specialists.
- Franklin, Tenn.-based Specialized Dental Partners added Texas Roots Endodontics in Fort Worth.
- Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health opened Babcock Modern Dentistry.
- Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental added Dental Care at Harvest.
North Carolina
- Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental added Forest Valley Dental Care and Parkview Center Dental Care.
- Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened practices in Selma and Elkin.
- Franklin, Tenn.-based Specialized Dental Partners partnered with KOS Endodontics in Hickory.
- Phoenix-based SALT Dental Partners partnered with MyOrthodontist, which has 14 offices in the state.
Georgia
- Franklin, Tenn.-based Specialized Dental Partners partnered with Dr. Rakesh Raina Endodontics in Duluth.
- Chesterfield, Mo.-based Oral Surgery Partners partnered with Austin Meadows, DMD, MD, in Columbus.
- Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened a practice in Perry.
- Denver-based Lone Peak Dental Group acquired Children’s Dental Center and Novus Orthodontics.
