DSO executives are expecting consolidation in the field to continue over the next few years, with larger companies swallowing up smaller groups as competition intensifies and challenges mount. Becker’s has already reported on several deals this year.
Three updates since June:
1. Toronto-based Dentalcorp entered the U.S. market after acquiring Northstar Dental Partners, a 21-practice DSO headquartered in Boca Raton, Fla.
2. Miami-based Guardian Dentistry Partners entered a definitive agreement for a strategic majority acquisition of Florham Park, N.J.-based Select Dental Management. The deal adds 38 locations to Guardian’s network.
3. Gen4 Dental Partners, Modis Dental Partners and SGA Dental Partners merged under a single brand, creating one of the largest DSOs in the U.S.
