DSOs continue to use de novos as a way to fuel growth as the costs associated with acquiring practices continue to rise.

Several DSOs began to invest more in de novos this year for the unique benefits these offices bring. Launching new practices is often seen as a way for DSOs to maintain consistency and growth across their brands. Additionally, de novos can be used as a cost-saving strategy for DSOs that want to continue expanding their network in a tough macroeconomic environment. They can also help DSOs build their presence in a new market and lead to partnerships with existing practices later on, several execs told Becker’s.

Here are seven DSOs that have opened de novo offices in recent weeks:

  • Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health added five de novo practices to its network in June. It also added five new de novo practices in five states during May.
  • Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental added six de novo offices to its network in June. It also opened five de novos in May.
  • Chicago-Aspen Dental has opened offices in Liberty, Mo.; Bastrop, Texas; and American Fork, Utah.
  • Sarasota, Fla.-based Parkview Dental Partners opened a de novo practice in Tampa, Fla.
  • Minneapolis-based Park Dental opened a practice in Forest Lake, Minn.
  • Phoenix-based SALT Dental Partners opened a de novo pediatric practice in Denver.
  • Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental opened a pediatric dental practice in Orlando, Fla.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
