Investment firm acquires North American Dental Group

Pittsburgh-based North American Dental Group co-founders Ken Cooper and Andrew Matta, DDS, entered an acquisition agreement with private investment firm Jacobs Holding.

Founders of the dental service organization will retain a significant equity position following the closing of the transaction. Additionally, North American Dental Group executives will be actively engaged in the expansion across the U.S.

With this acquisition, Jacobs will significantly expand its dental industry footprint. The private equity firm has a majority stake in Colosseum Dental Group, a leading dental care provider.

Combined, North American Dental Group and Jacobs will have annual revenues of more than $900 million and operate more than 450 practices. The transaction is expected to finalize in the third quarter of this year. Financial details were not disclosed.

North American Dental has a network of more than 200 dental practices in 11 states and 23 dental markets.
