Dr. Lloyd joins Stony Brook after serving as dean of the Ohio State University College of Dentistry in Columbus for a decade, according to a May 18 news release. He will succeed Margaret McGovern, MD, PhD, who has served as interim dean since December 2021.

While at Ohio State, Dr. Lloyd increased funding for student research, formed a collegewide workgroup to improve the school’s environment and launched a program to recruit and support dental students from underserved communities. He also oversaw the execution of a $95 million expansion and renovation of the college’s facilities.
