Colorado college to launch bachelor's program for dental hygienists

Colorado Northwestern Community College plans to launch a bachelor of applied science in dental hygiene program.

The program is online and asynchronous, designed for dental hygienists who are working to earn a bachelor's degree in the field, according to the school's website.

Having a bachelor's degree provides hygienists the opportunity to work outside of a clinical setting, serve in leadership roles and extend their careers in the healthcare industry.

Courses are focused on business, leadership, education, administration, research, critical thinking and access to care.

To be eligible for the program, applicants must have an associate's degree in dental hygiene from a CODA-accredited institute.

The program will be soft launched in the spring 2024 semester with a few students and be fully launched in the fall 2024 semester, the site said.
