Ten updates about the growth of artificial intelligence in dentistry this year:
- Retrace Labs, a startup dental artificial intelligence company, launched a management network that automates payment for dental services.
- Pearl entered a partnership with Midway Dental Supply Partners to have its software distributed by the supply company. Pearl also gained patents for its insurance fraud detection system and radiology system. It also partnered with Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental to integrate its technology at the DSO's locations.
- In August, Overjet raised $27 million in series A financing. In June, the company acquired dental claims review company American Dental Examiners.
- Sage Dental began using Straumann Group's digital intraoral scanners and AI-powered dental monitors for its orthodontics treatments.
- Teledentistry company Dentulu expanded its services to include artificial intelligence in April, which included the acquisition of Robohealer AI.
- P&R Dental Strategies, a provider of business intelligence services for payers, is partnering with Toronto-based Denti.AI Technology to develop advanced AI-assisted dental image analysis tools.
