Dr. Tom Blake travels to Honduras to provide free dental care

For the past 17 years, Tom Blake, DDS, a Fort Wayne, Ind.-based dentist, has been traveling to Comayagua, Honduras, with his colleagues to provide free dental care to those in need according to Wane News.

Here are four observations:

1. Dr. Blake estimates that during the one week trip he and his group provide more than $100,000worth of free dental work.

2. Dr. Blake created a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization for the annual trip known as the Sonrisas Siempre, which translates to Smiles Always.

3. The next trip is scheduled for Jan. 26 to Feb. 3, 2018.

4. Dr. Blake said in the report, "When we first started out it was two dentists from the Fort Wayne area and now this year it's 15 dentists from nine different states."
