Here are four key notes:
1. The fire started around 10:30 a.m. Nov. 20 and firefighters controlled the fire by 11 a.m.
2. The flames burned one patient and three staff members. Naval Medical Center’s emergency room staff evaluated the patients; the center transferred two of the victims to a hospital ward for treatment and one was discharged to UC San Diego’s Burn Center for additional care. The center discharged the fourth victim home.
3. An investigation into the fire is ongoing. A Naval Medical Center spokesperson said the fire is likely accidental.
4. The spokesperson said the dental clinical will resume patient visits Nov. 21.
