How DSOs are growing in 11 battleground states

Twelve states have seen some of the highest number of DSO deals over the last three years.

Here is how more than 40 DSOs have expanded in these states so far in 2026:

California

1. Salt Lake City-based Bridge Dental Group partnered with Foothill Family Dental Group and Peak Dental Specialists.

2. Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health opened Benton Modern Dentistry in Winchester, Calif.

3. Dallas-based MB2 Dental added Cabrillo Family Dental Care and The Center for Dental Wellness at Camarillo.

4. Phoenix-based Salt Dental Partners partnered with Berkeley & Orinda Orthodontics, which has three locations in California.

5. Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Imagen Dental Partners added Smiles on Clark in Orcutt, Calif.

6. Houston-based Specialty1 Partners entered a joint venture partnership with Advanced Periodontics Implant Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif. 

7. Irving, Texas-based U.S. Oral Surgery Management partnered with Hidemi Oka, DMD, in Union City, Calif.

Florida

1. Dallas-based MB2 Dental added Wellen Family Dental.

2. Toronto-based Dentalcorp entered the U.S. market after acquiring Northstar Dental Partners, a 21-practice DSO headquartered in Boca Raton, Fla.

3. Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental added Denta Smiles, Rapallo Dental Care, Luna Point Dental Care, Binks Forest Dental Care, Cypress Bay Dental Care, Marsh View Dental Care, Dental Care at Race Track, Dental Care of Four Corners, Waterman Dental Care, Dental Care at Pineda Commons, Prime Dentistry, Toledo Blade Dental Care, Lake Toho Dental Care and Dental Care at Winchester Center.

4. Sarasota, Fla.-based Parkview Dental Partners opened a de novo practice in Tampa, Fla. It also acquired VIP Dental in Palm Harbor, Fla.

5. Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental opened a pediatric dental practice in Orlando, Fla. It also opened a practice in Ormond Beach, Fla.

6. Plantation, Fla.-based Vitana Pediatric and Orthodontic Partners added Tringas Orthodontics.

7. Dallas-based Beacon Oral Specialists partnered with North Florida Oral & Facial Surgery, a five-location practice.

8. Chicago-based The Sonrisa Group acquired Pine Forest Dental and launched Lach Dental Specialists.

9. Sacramento, Calif.-based Straine Dental Management partnered with 4405 Dental Studio in Georgetown, Texas.

Illinois

1. Troy, Mich.-based Smile Partners USA added Favia Family Dental in Arlington Heights, Ill.

2. Scottsbluff, Neb.-based Epic4 Specialty Partners added Bowers Orthodontics to its network.

3. Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental added Wooded Acres Dental Care.

Indiana

1. Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental opened Promenade Dental Care in Noblesville, Ind.

Massachusetts

1. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Premier Care Dental Management added Brookline (Mass.) Smile Artists to its network. 

2. Troy, Mich.-based Smile Partners USA partnered with MFD Dental, which has six locations in Massachusetts.

New Jersey

1. Hackensack, N.J.-based MAX Surgical Specialty Management partnered with William Ranucci, DMD, in Montclair, N.J.

2. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Vitana Pediatric & Orthodontic Partners partnered with Tara Gostovich Orthodontics in Marlboro, N.J.

3. Creative Dental Care and the practice of Jeffrey Sklarin, DDS, merged into a new Dental365 office in Westfield, N.J.

4. Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened a location in Toms River, N.J.

5. Chicago-based Phase 1 Equity added a multi-site orthodontic practice in New Jersey.

New York

1. Hackensack, N.J.-based MAX Surgical Specialty Management partnered with Lloyd Klausner, DMD and Josef Bieber, DDS.

2. Phoenix-based Salt Dental Partners partnered with Julia Cerny, DMD, in Latham, N.Y., and Suffolk Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, which has five locations in New York.

3. Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental partnered with Western New York Dental Group.

4. Plantation, Fla.-based Vitana Pediatric & Orthodontic Partners added Comella & Associates Orthodontics in Rochester, N.Y.

5. Greenwood Village, Colo.-based ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers opened a location in Albany, N.Y.

Ohio

1. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Premier Care Dental Management added Brett Pelok, DDS & Associates, Laskey Dental Care, Great Smiles Family Dentistry and Blank Dental Group.

2. Troy, Mich.-based Smile Partners USA added its first Ohio office.

Pennsylvania

1. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Premier Care Dental Management acquired SK Smith & Associates, Lebanon Family Dental and Lebanon Dental Cornwall.

2. Houston-based Specialty1 Partners partnered with Endodontic Specialists of NEPA.

3. Chesterfield, Mo.-based Oral Surgery Partners partnered with Mohammad Mousavian, DMD, MD, PhD, of Warminster, Pa.

4. Hackensack, N.J.-based MAX Surgical Specialty Management added Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, which has locations in Doylestown, Quakertown, Warminster and Chalfont, Pa.

Texas

1. Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental added Boswell Dental Care, Dental Care of North Manor, Soto Dental Partners, Dental Care at Tehama Ridge and Dental Care at Lake Lavon.

2. Chicago-based Phase 1 Equity added a multilocation orthodontic practice in Texas.

3. Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Imagen Dental Partners added San Antonio Aesthetic & Family Dentistry, Cosmetic Smiles, Campbell Dental and Hearthstone Dental Specialists.

4. Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened a location in Bastrop, Texas.

Virginia

1. Great Neck, N.Y.-based The Smilist partnered with Arlington Dental Team.

2. Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health opened Dentists of Sudley in Manassas, Va.

3. Phoenix-based Salt Dental Partners partnered with Hampton (Va.) Oral & Facial Surgery.

4. Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental added Massaponax Dental Care and Whyte Smiles.
