Solvay Dental 360 introduces polymer for removable partial denture frames: 5 notes

Solvay Dental 360 will debut Ultaire AKP, a polymer for removable partial denture frames, at the 2017 American Dental Association annual meeting.

Here are five notes:

1. Ultaire AKP fills the gap between using metal removable partial denture frames and other polymer frame materials, which are often too flexible. Solvay Dental 360 created polymer frames that are light-weight and biocompatible.

2. The polymer frames are made from a stiff material that is strong enough to be a tooth replica and designed to reduce bone loss. Ultaire AKP is also able to engage undercuts more deeply that traditional flexible frames cannot.

3. Unlike metal removable partial denture frames, Ultaire AKP is designed and fitted to the patient so additional adjustments are not necessary in the future.

4. Metal denture frames can often cause irritation and toxicity in patients. Solvay Dental 360's Ultaire AKP is designed to be comfortable for the patient without patients having to give up aesthetic appeal.

5. Solvay Dental 360 is a part of the multispecialty chemical group Solvay, a leader in high performance polymer used in the healthcare industry for medical and dental devices. The company is focused on developing new materials to improve patient outcomes and advance the dental industry.
