6 industry updates for oral surgeons

From oral surgery-focused DSO expansions to a botched dental surgery, here are six oral surgery stories Becker’s has reported on since April 13:

1. Oral Surgery Partners added Hudson Oral Surgery, which has locations in Hackettstown, Roselle, Nutley and Denville, N.J., to its network.

2. Wendell Edgin, DDS, who served as president of several dental organizations and formerly served as a consultant to the U.S. surgeon general, retired after 42 years in practice.

3. The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia is the best college in the U.S. for oral and maxillofacial surgery, according to universities.com.

4. A Michigan man was awarded $2.75 million after a dentist botched an attempt to remove a mass from the patient’s lower jaw.

5. Today’s Dental Network added Sarasota, Fla.-based Middleton Oral Surgery to its network.

6. U.S. Oral Surgery Management added a third Indiana practice to its network.
