Colorado college to establish dental hygiene program with $835K grant

Westminster, Colo.-based Front Range Community College is planning a dental hygiene program to address the shortage of dental hygienists in the state, according to a June 11 report by North Forty News.

Front Range Community College will use funding from a $835,000 grant to create a two-year associate degree program in dental hygiene.

In addition to the new program, the college will add 10 more chairs at its current six-chair dental clinic.

The college already has a one-year certification program for dental assistants, which is the only CODA accredited dental assistant program north of the Denver-Metro area, the report said.

The college was one of four in Colorado to receive funding in May from the Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation.
