8 dental technologies receiving FDA clearance in 2022

Eight dental technologies that have received FDA clearance this year:

1. Oryx Dental, a dental practice management software company, received 510(k) FDA clearance for its imaging product, Oryx Imaging.

2. Dental technology company Overjet received FDA 510(k) clearance for its artificial intelligence-powered cavity detection and outlining software, Caries Assist.

3. VideaHealth, a dental artificial intelligence technology company, received FDA 510(k) clearance for Videa Caries Assist, an AI cavity detection algorithm.

4. X-Nav Technologies, a medical device company, received FDA 510(k) clearance to expand the use of its X-Guide Dynamic Surgical Navigation system to endodontic procedures.

5. Dental supply company Envista received FDA 510(k) clearance for an "assisted intelligence" nerve tracing feature in its DTX Studio Clinic software.

6. Pearl, an artificial intelligence company, received FDA clearance for its Second Opinion software, the first in the world to read dental X-rays to identify oral health conditions.

7. Orthodontics technology company SoftSmile received FDA 510(k) clearance for its AI-powered Vision software, allowing orthodontists to create aligners treatment plans in-house.

8. Dental laser company Biolase and medical device company EdgeEndo were granted FDA 510(k) clearance for their EdgePRO irrigation system.
