1. Annual compensation for oral and maxillofacial surgeons has been on the decline.

2. The number of oral and maxillofacial surgery dentists in the U.S. has increased nearly 17 percent over two decades.

3. An outpatient dental surgery center in Jacksonville, Fla., is expected to open in fall 2022.
