Dental Care Alliance's 4-year recap: 15 big moves

Sarasota, Fla.-based Dental Care Alliance has grown its network to include more than 390 practices and more than 775 dentists in 22 states. 

Here are 15 notable moves from the company in the last four years:

2018

  • Dental Care Alliance affiliated with Eckels Orthodontics, which has practices in Marietta, Ohio; Parkersburg, W.Va.; and Ripley, W.Va.

2019

  • The DSO added its first Arizona practice in June. 
  • Dental Care Alliance affiliated with a four-practice dental group in San Antonio.

2020

  • The DSO launched its teledentistry platform. 
  • Dental Care Alliance rolled out its Safe Smiles Playbook and Training program, a program designed to provide its dental staff with step-by-step processes and training on COVID-19 safety measures.
  • Jeffrey Koziel joined Dental Care Alliance as its new president in October.

2021

  • Biolase and Dental Care Alliance reached an agreement to expand laser technology and training programs at DCA's offices nationwide.
  • Dental Care Alliance gained its 30th practice affiliation in Texas.
  • The DSO added an Ally Day floating holiday for its employees as part of its diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
  • DCA added its first Wisconsin practice to its network. 
  • Dental Care Alliance completed 18 practice affiliations in 2021. 

2022

  • DCA reorganized its structure with the addition of a second support division for specialty dental practices. 
  • The company expanded its footprint in Florida with the addition of a five-office dental practice to its network. 
  • The DSO hired Christine Heald as chief development officer and David Pegg as chief growth officer.
  • Dental Care Alliance added its first Tennessee dental practice to its network.
