Several DSOs have made notable accomplishments this year with technology, network expansion and industry collaborations.
Here are more than 25 DSO milestones from 2026:
1. Danbury, Conn.-based Archway Dental Partners added its first practice in Massachusetts.
2. Sacramento, Calif.-based Straine acquired its first practice in Idaho, marking its 17th state.
3. Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health was among the first healthcare organizations to deploy PolyAI’s new direct integration with Epic. PDS Health was also the first non-startup dental organization to join AARP’s AgeTech Collaborative to enhance healthcare for the aging population.
4. Salt Lake City-based Nuvia Dental Implant Center opened its first location in Rhode Island.
5. Roseville, Minn.-based Park Dental Partners acquired its first practice in Arizona.
6. Morrisville, N.C.-based Affordable Care completed a recapitalization transaction to reduce debt and improve its financial foundation for long-term growth.
7. Chicago-based Phase 1 Equity added a multi-site orthodontic practice in North Dakota to its network.
8. Lincoln, Neb.-based Paradigm Oral Health completed a surgeon-led buyback of BlackRock Long Term Private Capital’s majority ownership stake.
9. Toronto-based Dentalcorp entered the U.S. market after acquiring Northstar Dental Partners, a 21-practice DSO headquartered in Boca Raton, Fla.
10. Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Peak Dental Services became the first DSO to deploy the SCORE survey, a peer-reviewed clinician well-being assessment used in more than 30 countries.
11. Miami-based Guardian Dentistry Partners entered into a definitive agreement for a strategic majority acquisition of Florham Park, N.J.-based Select Dental Management.
12. Dallas-based Smile Doctors secured an additional $125 million in growth capital to invest in new affiliations, de novo expansion and support for affiliated practices.
13. Englewood, Colo.-based Lone Peak Dental Group completed a $170 million recapitalization led by TCW Steel City, a private credit platform. It also received a $15 million mezzanine debt investment from o15 Capital Partners, an alternative investment firm.
14. Phoenix-based SALT Dental Partners partnered with a 14-office orthodontic practice in North Carolina.
15. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Vitana Pediatric & Orthodontic Partners added Saratoga Investment Corp. as a debt financing partner. It also added its first Maryland practice.
16. Little Rock, Ark.-based Rock Dental Brands achieved record growth during the first half of 2026, adding nine providers and six practices to its network, including its first in Texas.
17. Los Angeles-based Cal Dental USA added Ian Miller as a strategic growth consultant to support its long-term expansion efforts.
18. Gen4 Dental Partners, Modis Dental Partners and SGA Dental Partners merged under one brand, becoming one of the largest DSOs in the U.S.
19. Sharon, Mass.-based Qualitas Dental Partners increased its credit facilities with a long-term lender to support future acquisitions.
20. Dallas-based Apex Dental Partners affiliated with five new practices in Colorado, bringing its total network to 65 practices across eight states. It also expanded its doctor-led ownership model with a new group of equity partners.
21. Troy, Mich.-based Smile Partners USA has expanded its network to Massachusetts and Ohio. It also opened its first de novo practice in Saline, Mich.
22. Dallas-based Ideal Dental added its first location in Oklahoma.
23. Great Neck, N.Y.-based The Smilist expanded its network into Virginia.
24. Troy, Mich.-based Smile Partners USA expanded into Ohio, its sixth market.
25. Chicago-based The Sonrisa Group expanded its network into Florida with an acquisition and multiple location openings.
26. Sarasota, Fla.-based Dental Care Alliance entered into an agreement with its existing lender group to reduce its debt by more than $1.1 billion and receive $95 million in new capital.
