California
1. A California orthodontic practice with five locations unified under a single coordinated care model.
2. Dentists have filed class-action lawsuits against Delta Dental in four states, including California, alleging that the organization engaged in conduct that suppressed reimbursement rates and limited competition in the insurance market.
3. Digital dentistry company Medit launched a global orthodontics business and acquired Progressive Orthodontics in Aliso Viejo, Calif.
4. The dental hygiene program at Cabrillo College in Aptos, Calif., was placed on probation after a visit from the state hygiene board.

1. Shamis & Gentile, a class action law firm specializing in data breaches, is investigating a recent data breach at Tampa Bay Dental Implants & Periodontics in St. Petersburg, Fla.
2. Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental opened a pediatric dental practice in Orlando, Fla. It also opened an office in Ormond Beach, Fla.
3. Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental partnered with Prime Dentistry in Coconut Creek, Fla. It also received a permit for the construction of a 4,260-square-foot practice in St. Augustine, Fla.
4. Sarasota, Fla.-based Parkview Dental Partners acquired a practice in Palm Harbor, Fla.
5. Plantation, Fla.-based Vitana Pediatric and Orthodontic Partners added Tringas Orthodontics to its network.
Texas
1. Amp Miller III, DDS, is set to retire after serving as a faculty member at the Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas for 53 years.
2. The Texas Tech Hunt School of Dental Medicine in El Paso is launching a master’s degree program in dentistry with a specialization in orthodontics.
3. Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened an office in Bastrop, Texas.
4. Alamo City Orthodontics is relocating into a new 6,000-square-foot facility in San Antonio.
5. Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental added Soto Dental Partners in El Paso, Texas. It also partnered with Majid Sehat, DDS, and his practice in Irving, Texas.
6. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued a group of dental providers and sham marketers claiming they bribed Medicaid patients to have medically unnecessary procedures performed.
