1. Stanley Meckler, DDS, of Pepper Pike, Ohio, agreed to pay $500,000 to resolve allegations that he submitted claims to Medicaid for services that were ineligible for reimbursement.
2. Three Washington dental practices agreed to pay a combined $1 million to resolve allegations of fraudulent Medicaid billing.
3. A former dental office manager was sentenced to 36 months in prison for defrauding Indiana’s Medicaid program.
4. A dentist and dental practice employee in Chicago were charged with defrauding Illinois out of more than $100,000 in Medicaid funds.
5. A Michigan dentist was indicted for allegedly running a criminal enterprise and committing Medicaid fraud.
6. A former employee at Southport (Conn.) Family Dental was charged with stealing more than $78,000 from the practice through a three-year scheme involving fraudulent credit card refunds.
